Rainier Wood Recyclers offers FREE storm-debris recycling March 4

Feb. 24, 2006 – As a service to the community, Rainier Wood Recyclers is offering free wood recycling at its Auburn facility to help residents affected by recent windstorms.

Homeowners can drop off storm debris by the pick-up truckload or small trailer for no charge on Saturday, March 4. Commercial trucks are not eligible for this offer.

"Rainier Wood Recyclers, along with the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, encourages everyone to recycle the woody storm debris rather than burn it or take it to a landfill," said Tony Bennett, president.

State law prohibits outdoor fires in urbanized areas; in other areas, burning is subject to additional state and local restrictions. Additionally, with its high levels of particulate matter and toxic carcinogens, smoke from burning fallen limbs and yard waste negatively impacts air quality – and human health.
