Agency Board of Directors seeks candidates for Advisory Council education position
Feb. 16, 2006 –The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency’s Board of Directors is seeking candidates to fill a vacant education position on its citizen Advisory Council. The Advisory Council is made up of individuals representing both regulated and non-regulated businesses, transportation, education, health and science, tribal interests, ports, fire officials, the environmental community and the public-at-large.
The role of the Advisory Council is to provide counsel and input on agency programs and initiatives. The Advisory Council meets the second Wednesday of each month (except August) from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Advisory Council terms are for three years and the positions are unpaid.
The vacant position represents education and the Board is looking for candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Public education
- Health education
- Environmental education
- Science education
- Community relations
- Community outreach
- Environmental curriculum development
- Other related experience
Interested candidates must be a resident of King, Kitsap, Pierce or Snohomish County.
To apply, candidates should submit a letter to the Agency that describes why they are interested in serving on the Advisory Council and what experience they have that qualifies them to represent education. The Agency is committed to seeking culturally and ethnically diverse perspectives. Persons of color are encouraged to apply.

The Board of Directors will review the letters of interest and select one or more finalists. The Board may choose to meet and interview the finalists before making its selection sometime in March or April.
