Snohomish County issues county-wide fire safety burn ban, effective August 5, 2005

Aug. 4, 2005 – Due to the current hot, dry weather conditions, Snohomish County is issuing a county-wide fire safety burn ban, effective August 5, 2005. All issued burn permits are therefore suspended until this ban is lifted.

This ban includes all outdoor burning except recreational fires in approved enclosures. The enclosure must be constructed of a noncombustible material such as concrete or metal. Water must also be immediately available.

With the continuing dry weather conditions, the Snohomish County Fire Marshal requests that any recreational fires be considered very carefully.

For updated information, contact the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Outdoor Burning Information Hotline: 425-388-3508.
