July 10: Tri-county fire-safety burn ban now in effect

Jul. 10, 2004 – Fire officials have declared fire-safety burn bans in King, Kitsap and Pierce counties because of high fire danger.

No outdoor burning is permitted except for cooking fires in contained barbecue pits using propane or charcoal briquettes and in designated campfire pits in state parks. A permanent burn ban in urban areas of the county, imposed by state law, has been in effect for several years.
