July 6: King County calls fire-safety burn ban
Jul. 6, 2004 – King County fire officials (external link) issued a fire-safety burn ban as of 8 a.m. today because fire danger is "High."
No outdoor burning is permitted except for cooking fires in contained barbecue pits using propane or charcoal briquettes and in designated campfire pits in state parks. A permanent burn ban in urban areas of the county, imposed by state law, has been in effect for several years.
