More than 50 participants heard from acknowledged leaders in the sustainability arena, along with fellow business people from Pierce and Kitsap Counties who are making a profit while making a difference by implementing sustainable practices in their businesses. Many walked away with innovative and inspiring ideas and discovered best practices for a framework for implementation. -

This one-day summit addressed the growing demands for rail and trucking associated with port growth by focusing on the regional infrastructure needs. The event highlighted the innovative programs, policies and technologies now being implemented in the region. It also provided a venue for ports in the Pacific Northwest to interact with technology providers, elected officials, environmental organizations and the community to develop together plans to improve efficiency and reduce the air quality impacts of the goods movement industry.
The event was hosted by the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, Port of Seattle, Port of Tacoma, Washington State Department of Transportation and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. For more information visit www.ffcapugetsound.com.
