Register an air quality complaint

To register a complaint about smoke from fireplaces or wood stoves, click here.  For all other air quality complaints, follow these guidelines:

Call us:

We encourage you to call us with your complaint so we can respond as quickly as possible.

Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
(After hours, you will be assisted by our answering service.)

When you call, we will ask for your name, address, and a daytime phone number to contact you; this information becomes part of the public record and is not confidential. Please let us know if you wish to remain anonymous and not have your information in our records. Keep in mind that remaining anonymous may impede our ability to solve your problem and we will not be able to contact you with the results of our investigation.

You may also submit a complaint via e-mail. After receiving your complaint, an Inspection Department representative will contact you to discuss the problem and potential ways to resolve it. Please note: All e-mail communications with us are public records and are not confidential.

In your e-mail complaint, please include the following information:

• Your name.
• Daytime telephone number.
• Address (include city and zip code) of where you are being impacted. Please indicate whether this is your home or place of work.
• Address of business/activity that is causing the air quality problem.
• Specific details about the problem.
