Permit for Public Comment - Kenworth Truck Co - Renton

Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (the Agency) is seeking comments on a proposed Regulatory Order No. 11587 and a draft renewal Air Operating Permit (Permit No. 17796) for Kenworth Truck Company Renton (Kenworth), located at 1601 North 8th Street in Renton, Washington 98057. Kenworth operates a truck assembly facility that produces highway and off-highway trucks. Plant operations include truck assembly lines, surface coating, testing facilities, offices, general plant operations and maintenance. Facility operations result in releases of volatile organic compounds (VOC), hazardous air pollutants (HAP), oxides of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and particulate matter.

ADDITIONAL PROJECT INFORMATION

The proposed Order consolidates emissions limits from existing Orders, updates the definitions of VOC and HAP to be consistent with current EPA regulations, and lists all equipment that has previously been permitted through the Notice of Construction program.

The draft Air Operating Permit is a renewal of the current Kenworth that is already in force. Air Operating Permits expire every five years and need to be renewed. This renewal incorporates all the new compliance requirements that have come into effect for Kenworth since the previous permit was issued
